One Fine [Field] Day

Today is the fourth day Mike has been in the field (which means outside all day and all night in the freezing cold, running around with guns). While the guys were gone, my friends and I had our own field experience, albeit a much more fun one. We like to do theme nights. This time it was "G.I. Jayne Night" at Carolyn's. We all dressed up in our husbands cammies, played games, drank out of plastic canteens and decorated some truly original Christmas cookies. We had a ton of fun! Spending time with them made Mike's absence a million times easier to bear.

Trying to pose in time for the camera's self timer. From left, me, Sommer, Marge and Carolyn.

It's still very cold here and snow is falling again today. I know Mike will be glad to get back home to thaw out. I'm looking forward to his return this afternoon!

I'm so glad you've made such great friends there! I'm kind of jealous as "out in the real world" everyone is so busy and I hardly ever get together with my friends anymore. I love Philip dearly but he's my main play partner these days!!

I hope you have a safe drive/flight, a great Christmas, and "vacation" with Mike. I can't believe we've got only 9 days till Christmas. Crazy. I had a blast too...

Now that looks like fun! Somewhere....I have a picture of all of us dressed up in camo in college--for a preference or a mixer or something--but I can not rememner what we called theme?? Can you??
I am loving your theme night idea. You are blessed to have found new friends--and great ones at that! Next time you mix drinking with building a pyramid--wear protective head gear!!
Keep on having fun!
