Will this EVER end?!

Yup. I'm still pregnant. Five days past due and still no progress. No contractions, and I'm still only dilated 1 cm. We went to the hospital Saturday where they told me I had low amniotic fluid, but it wasn't low enough to warrant an induction. We were told to come back today to check it again and my fluid level was back to normal. I was hoping they'd induce me today, given that I'm almost a week overdue. But it looks like I may be waiting until the end of the week or the beginning of next week before they'll induce (hospital policies and such). I'm feeling fine, which is good, but it's SO FRUSTRATING!!!

Thanks for your continued thoughts and prayers. I'll post again once I know more. For now, it's back to squats and spicy food!

OH geeze- I thought your text message today was that you were in the hospital - started labor. DUH. Have you tried spicey foods?!?

Oh Casey!!! I was sure you would have had her by now! We are thinking about you! Let us know if you need anything.

NO! I can not believe her! I think she is going to be like me....always late!

Hang in there...certainly it will be any minute now!

I have to admit I'm surprised! Doctors these days have a happy trigger finger when it comes to inducing. I guess because you and baby are well, and there are no concerns, they would prefer for things to progress naturally. Get off the computer and go walk a few miles while eating a spicy taco! Haha. None of that works--she'll come when she's supposed to.

I can imagine how you must feel right now.
Since she's cooked so long, she'll probably come out able to recite the alphabet and count to 10!
Hang in there!

Casey, I think Ruth Ann could sympathize with you. I remember her saying Jonathan was almost 2 weeks past due (I think it was her that told me that!). Yes, I'd say go out and take a long walk. If it doesn't put you in labor, it will at least keep your heart strong for when it does happen. We're still praying! Kim

Perhaps Abby Kate wants to be a Halloween baby? Too bad I'm not there to make you some of my taco dip! I could make it extra spicy for you!

OH...you poor thing! You are more patient then I ever was while waiting for Chase to arrive! Have you tried demanding an induction? That's what I did and it worked! We will continue to keep you in mind!

Another thought I had which might help. One of the doctors in my practice said that I could be induced on my duedate. The next appt. I went for I saw a different doctor and he said he preferred to let women wait a full week past their due dates. He said if your body is not ready and you induce anyway it can cause a greater chance of needing a c-section. That made me fine in waiting! I'm sure you would rather keep AK around a few more days than risk a c-section and all that comes with it. Still praying!! (Maybe you're at the hospital right now!)
