A Quick Trip Home

My long-time friend, Kyle Simpson, tied the knot this weekend in Louisville, KY. Kyle and I attended all 12 grades together, then went on to the same university. Our parents have been close friends since they were in school together. Mike and I drove home to attend the wedding. We left mid-morning on Friday, arriving around 10:30 p.m. eastern time. I was happy to have had most of Saturday to spend with my family before we all went to the wedding that night. It was great to see some of my high school buddies and their families.

I was also glad to have been able to wish my mom a Happy Mother's Day in person on Sunday before we had to leave. She loved the embroidered pillow we got her. It reads: "Every Time a Baby is Born, So is a Grandmother." We also got her a silver bracelet engraved with her initial.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom! Love you!

It was a very quick trip to Kentucky, but one I'm so glad we were able to make. I'm looking forward to going back home next month to greet my nephew, William, who will be arriving the first part of June, and to attend two more friends' weddings.

Casey, you look great and that baby bump is getting bigger and cuter with each picture. Please send my love and prayers on to Brian and Carrie. I had forgotten their baby William was to arrive so soon. Maybe she will email you pictures or start a blog of her own!! We love you guys.

Casey and Mike, I'm so glad you got to be home for Kyle's wedding and the first part of Mothers Day. Even though it was a short trip, I felt truly blessed to have you home. I love you soooooo much. Thanks again for the wonderful Mother's Day gifts. I absolutely love them. Can't wait to see you in June.
